Looking for an Effective Treatment for Foot Pain – Ask A Podiatrist
Many things can cause foot pain. Wearing shoes that don't fit properly is one of the most common reasons people (particularly women) develop foot problems like calluses and bunions. With age, feet often grow wider and being overweight can increase your chances of having foot problems or injuries. Women who have children have a tendency to have less firm ligaments due to a hormone that occurs naturally during pregnancy. Other causes include hammer toes, corns, plantar warts and fallen arches. Still others may experience foot pain due to broken bones, arthritis, gout, plantar fasciitis, bone spur, sprains, bursitis or tendonitis.
When you experience foot pain – regardless of the cause – your level of activity will decrease. You may find yourself avoiding things you once enjoyed. We don’t believe anyone should live this way. We have years of experience helping our NJ clients get their lives back. We encourage you to make an appointment at either of our New Jersey locations to meet with a podiatrist as soon as the foot pain starts. Don’t wait for the foot pain to become unbearable and affect your life. Our podiatrists can help you stop the pain and the progression of your condition.

Do You Suffer From Peripheral Neuropathy?
Peripheral neuropathy refers to damage to nerves of the peripheral nervous system. Caused by either diseases of the nervous system or a side-effect of systemic illness, the presentation and origin may vary and could affect the nerve or the neuromuscular junction. Major causes of peripheral neuropathy include diabetes mellitus, nutritional deficiencies, alcoholism and HIV and chemotherapy.
While there are no medical treatments that can cure inherited peripheral neuropathy there are therapies that can help alleviate BOTH the pain and numbness associated with Neuropathy. This can help prevent amputations. Our podiatrists can help you to determine what the best method is for your condition and circumstances. The therapies include adopting healthy habits - such as maintaining optimal weight, avoiding exposure to toxins, following an exercise program, eating a balanced diet and limiting or avoiding alcohol consumption. Adopting some of these therapies can help to lessen the effects of peripheral neuropathy.
Do you Suspect Peripheral Neuropathy? A Podiatrist Can Evaluate You.
